Pinball Museum in Las Vegas - More Bang Back for Little Bucks
What's one of the best things to do in Las Vegas? For some people, it's hitting the gambling casinos and trying their hand with Lady Luck. For others, gambling just doesn't cut it. Something about shoving millions of coins into slots machines for hours on end is unsettling. Maybe, it's just that some people are just plain unlucky. For those of you who fall into the latter category, we may have a fun and inexpensive solution for you. Venture off the beaten path and visit the Pinball Hall of Fame museum in Las Vegas!
Every day in Sin City, millions of coins are deposited into slot machines. The anxious person waits as the lever is pulled down and the coin disappears into oblivion. More often than not, the person comes out a loser. Not so at the Pinball Hall of Fame, the public museum in Las Vegas located on East Tropicana Boulevard. The largest pinball collection in the world is housed here in the non-profit museum run by the members of the Las Vegas Pinball Collectors Club.
With over 200 games available for play at a quarter or two apiece, the fun and your money can last for hours. The classics from the 1960s and 1970s are showcased. This timeframe is known as the heyday of pinball. Rare machines like Williams' Black Gold, Bally's Pinball Circus and Recreativos Franco's Impacto are on available for play to those of you with a sense of nostalgia. Such popular 1980 stalwarts like Mario Bros, Miss Pacman, Paperboy, Punch Out, Missile Command and Donkey Kong are all in working condition.
The Pinball Hall of Fame is just down the street from the famed Las Vegas Strip, right across the street from the Liberace Museum. With no entrance fee or admission charge, a visit to this museum in Las Vegas is a must thing to do for those of you looking for an inexpensive but fun way to spend an afternoon away from the casino.

Pinball machine repair?
Okay the machine is a williams 1979 Gorgar machine the soilinoids don't fire at all(flippers or anything). But I'm sure its not the problem cause acationally when I start it it fire everything at once. What could be the matter?
When you're trying to fix electronic pinball games like Gorgar you want to turn them on and see what's working and what's not working.
If you turn it on and you get NOTHING - no lights at all, no sign of life - then you might have something as simple as a bad power cord, bad main fuse or (rarely) a transformer power supply problem.
Let's say you turn it on and the machine seems completely dead EXCEPT you can see some lights - and none of these lights flash. This could mean a number of things - partial problems with power supply, blown fuses, loose connectors - but usually it means the computer board needs help - in which case you want to send it to someone for repair. You can always call Steve Young at the Pinball Resource (link below) for help. Or 2 bit score.
Let's say you turn on the machine, and you see signs that the machine is alive and 'thinking' - you see numbers on the score and lights flash. This is a good sign! This means your computer works.
If the computer works and all seems to work but the solenoids, then you may be lucky enough to have a bad fuse. Fuses usually - though not always - blow for a reason. If so, you might replace the fuse and have it blow right away again. If this happens, you have to hunt down the wiring problem, fused up coil, or something else.
On the other hand, you're saying everything fires at once - do you mean all the coils fire at once? Wow. Do they fire and hold (in which case you'll hear a hum sound) or fire once and that's it?
Well, pinball machines are hard to diagnose to begin with, but reply back with more details based on what I've described and we'll see what we can do.
BTW, Gorgar was I believe was one of the first if not the first talking game. It was certainly the first Williams talking game. But it used to be hard to sell to people's homes because it has a more or less satanic main character. One time we showed up at a guy's house, and as soon as the guy's wife saw it she told us to leave it in the truck!
